Free printable kids travel journal8/13/2023 ![]() The car and plane pattern featured in most of the previous pictures is used on both the Car Trip and Plane Trip journals. Below are the specific pages for camping trips… …and each has their own color scheme, icons and patterns! Now that you see how these travel journals come together and what kind of pages are included, let me chat briefly about the really fun options included for you in this kit!įirst, as I mentioned earlier, there are 7 different travel journals to choose from… This is a really quick and easy way to bind your booklets and ensure they don’t come apart when in use! Then fold the booklet in half along the stitch line. I do suggest using a stapler along the middle fold to keep the pages together!Īnother fun assembly option is to use your sewing machine like I did for these coloring books! Before folding your stack of papers in half, just run them through your sewing machine down the middle of the pages (5.5″ from the side). The easiest way to assemble the travel journal is to simply fold the stack of papers in half, with the cover ending up on top. ![]() Once you have your four pages printed, layer them with the cover page facing up on top and the Day 1/Day 7 next. Of the four pages in each journal, you want to print pages 1 and 2 on the same paper and 3 and 4 together. However, you might find it easiest to manually feed your paper in and print one page at a time to ensure you have the correct pages facing the the right directions. In general, you want these pages to “flip on the short side” in order to turn out right. Now, I experimented printing these pages on a few different printers, and sure enough they all printed a little differently based on how the paper feeds into that specific machine. Next, print the four (or more!) pages of the travel journal double-sided. Note: Each journal is clearly labeled with a separator page! To start, select which journal you want to make (there are 7 different options) and find it the PDF download from The Toolbox. These journals are really easy to print and assemble, but they do require you to think through and pay attention to your printing just a bit in order for them to turn out right! While the journals only include daily entries for a 7-day trip, I do include coordinating “blank” journal entry pages so that you can easily extend/customize the journal to match the amount of days you’ll be traveling! The final back page of the booklet features the Day 7 journal entry, as well as a spot to record quick, specific memories at the end of the trip! The inside back cover also matches the front and back cover iconography! ![]() They’re a fun activity to do at the start of a vacation and the notes may come in handy if you keep the booklets and look through them in the future!Īs you flip the page to the center of the booklet, you’ll find journal entries for Days 3-6… The details printed onto the front cover of the journal are quick little notes about the trip. Both covers are actually printed on the same sheet but when folded in half, they create an adorable front and back to the travel journal!Īs you flip open to the first page, you’ll see some simple travel details to fill in on the left, and the daily journal entries start on the right.
